My Story
Jim Weidner is a dedicated entrepreneur, craftsman, and community member with a strong background in mechanical engineering technology, having earned his Associate’s degree from NH Technical Institute. He began his career as the owner of Gap Mountain Drilling, a full-service water well and systems company. After selling the business, Jim launched Weidner Services—a full-service welding, fabrication, and machine shop that also operates as a Boss Snowplow dealer. His projects have ranged from hand-crafted wrought iron fences to custom steel staircases, including restoring historic ironwork at the Cathedral of the Pines with his signature design touches.
Today, Jim owns and operates ERKAT LLC, specializing in the development and management of both commercial buildings and residential rental properties. He is a licensed Realtor in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and an active member of the New Hampshire Commercial Investment Board of Realtors (NHCIBOR).
Deeply committed to his community, Jim serves on the Board of Trustees for the Cathedral of the Pines and plays an active role in the Dublin Engine Show Committee. He has a long-standing involvement with 4-H, helping to revitalize the Monadnock Mountaineers 4-H Club and serving on both the Cheshire County and 4-H Advisory Councils.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys woodworking, hiking, skiing, gardening, antique tractor restoration, and animal training with oxen. Above all, he cherishes time with his daughters, Erin and Katy, and takes pride in their family’s strong connection to the Cathedral and the Monadnock region.
